Dispensationalism is Self-Evident

Dispensationalism, as a system of theology, is self-evident to the normal reader of Scripture.

This article is part of an on-going study into Dispensationalism. It is only a small part of a larger study, so if you feel it is incomplete, you're right.

We need to stop perpetuating weightism. This refers to oppressive societal structures that create body image disturbances in certain people.

If you are so insensitive that you would suggest a portly pal skip that second slice of cake, you’re not showing concern for his or her well-being; you’re committing a microaggression, expressing bigotry, causing emotional pain.

This growing "war on obesity" has actually caused more harm than good. Many who attempt to lose weight suffer damaging psychological consequences. And, as the "war on obesity" has escalated, so has weight-based bias and discrimination

Weightism as a system of oppression is just as wicked, evil, and psychologically damaging as other (more media-popular) systems of oppression such as sexism, racism, classism, heterosexism, and ageism.

Weight-based oppression is a social justice issue. Fat people are victims of sizeism (i.e., fat oppression)!

All of this stems from an oppression known as healthism. Encouraging people to watch their health is a coercive and potentially fascist act linked to capitalism, racism, and Nazi-style eugenics.

We must show a united front against this awful discrimination!

A quote by Arthur Pink (1886–1952).

"...of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off." [Hosea 8:4 ]

Sad indeed is the above passage--and the more so, because we have seen such a tragic repetition of it in our own days.

Oh what earthly-mindedness, what indulging of the flesh, what sinful extravagance--are now seen among professing Christians today!

  • How practical godliness has waned;
  • how the denying of self has disappeared;
  • how covetousness, pleasure and worldliness now possess the great majority of those calling themselves the people of God.

Yet as great as the sin of the people is--far greater is that of most of the preachers, who, instead of warning, admonishing, rebuking, and setting before their people an example of sobriety and contentment--criminally remain silent upon the crying sins of their hearers, while they themselves encourage the reckless indulgence of worldly lusts.

I want you to think about just how cutting and "impatient" and "mean" this must have sounded.

Here's the scene: A man loves his son and his son is very sick, deathly ill. He takes his son to the only people who can help him: the disciples (Mat 17.14-16). Now, think about it... The disciples TRIED THEIR BEST to help the man (v19). The man loved his son and was BROKEN over the child's condition. The man just wanted help the child he loved. He wanted his son back.

And then the biting response (Mat 17.17): Jesus said...

Now please do not misunderstand my intent here. I'm not charging the Lord with any (!) wrong doing. But, I want you to notice something very, very important...

Notice how twisted and perverse our perception of the Lord Jesus Christ is. He was not the ever-kind, soft-spoken, winsome, frolicking-in-the-spring-flowers "Jesus" of Family Bookstores.

Jesus said some very hard things to some very sincere people, even hurting people. And I think He said those hard things because, in spite of their sincerity and their hurt, they were wrong and they needed to hear it just like Jesus said it.

Faith glorifies God because it shows our trust in Him.

  • It is proof by behavior that we count God worthy of our trust.
  • We believe his Word and we act on it, even though we may not understand it.
  • That shouts to all creation that we believe what God said and we count Him worthy of all our trust in every situation.

Lack of faith is calling God a liar.

  • It is shouting out to all creation that we don't believe God will actually do what He said.
  • It's wicked and perverse.

We are a faithless and perverse generation.

Our unbelief is staggering from our perspective.
I think that unbelief is unthinkably offensive from God's perspective.

It merits the most stern and harsh of rebukes, even when we are sincere and even when we are hurting.

New Web Site

I put together a "landing page" web site for street work. It's just a simple site with a name that's easy to remember so we can give it on tracts, etc. while out street preaching.
